\u201cWalls, Bridges, and Borders in the Americas,\u201d<\/h2>\n

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the\u00a0Sixth Conference of the\u00a0International Association of Inter-American Studies (IAS)<\/strong>, \u201cWalls, Bridges, and Borders in the Americas,\u201d\u00a0at Texas A&M International University was postponed.\u00a0The conference has been rescheduled to take place in\u00a0November 11-13, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The conference will be offered in a\u00a0hybrid modality<\/strong>\u00a0(in-person and online), and participants will be able to choose whether they travel to Laredo and participate in-person\u00a0(in accordance with the possibilities afforded by the pandemic),\u00a0or if they prefer to stay at their home countries and cities and be part of the conference in a virtual manner. In the eventuality of the COVID-19 pandemic resurging at the time of the conference, all participations will move online.<\/em><\/p>\n

Concrete guidelines will be posted in due course.

IAS Prize for Best Thesis or Dissertation and<\/strong><\/h2>\n

IAS Prize for Best Essay or Article\u00a0<\/strong>in Inter-American Studies<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 competition was also postponed. We are now announcing a new deadline for the submissions:\u00a0June 30, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0There are again\u00a0two awards, one for the\u00a0best\u00a0master\u2019s or doctoral thesis and one for the\u00a0best\u00a0article or essay in Inter-American Studies completed since December 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 competition was also postponed. We are now announcing a new deadline for the submissions: June 30, 2021. There are again two awards, one for the\u00a0best\u00a0master\u2019s or doctoral thesis and one for the\u00a0best\u00a0article or essay in Inter-American Studies completed since December 2018. Submitted work does not yet need to be in print to be considered. Only work in Spanish or in English can be submitted. Each award carries a\u00a0cash\u00a0prize\u00a0of 300 euros (c\/330 U.S. dollars).<\/p>\n

Contestants who would like to have their work considered will need to join the association. If you would like to do so, please go to\u00a0http:\/\/www.interamericanstudies.net\/?page_id=26<\/a>\u00a0(in English) or to\u00a0http:\/\/www.interamericanstudies.net\/?page_id=135<\/a>\u00a0(in Spanish).<\/p>\n
