Conference City


Guadalajara is Jalisco’s capital, the second most important city in Mexico, with approximately 4.5 million inhabitants, which includes the metropolitan area and its surrounding municipalities.
It’s historical downtown is dominated by colonial buildings and plazas, but it is also a city with modern commercial facilities, urban infrastructure, and important public and private universities that are among the most important in the country.
Because of its geographical situation, Guadalajara has historically been a prosperous city, key to economic and cultural activities of the region. Annual events, initially launched by the University of Guadalajara, such as the International Book Fairat the end of November and the International Film Festival at the end of March, which shows the most recent Iberoamerican film productions, have contributed to establishing Guadalajara’s international reputation as an influential center of culture.
